AALTO HAPS and Paradise Mobile, a mobile network operator based in Bermuda, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on bringing HAPS-based solutions to the area.
When AALTO launches its commercial services in 2024, Paradise Mobile will have access to its solutions, enabling it to offer services to customers within the extensive coverage areas that HAPS can offer. Furthermore, HAPS solutions can be quickly and readily installed to increase coverage during important events.
“We are very pleased to count Paradise Mobile, the next-gen Mobile Network Operator leading digital innovations in the Caribbean region, as one of our pioneering partners looking into HAPS as an efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly new stratospheric layer of connectivity to deliver service and add new reach beyond current infrastructure,” noted Samer Halawi, CEO of AALTO HAPS. “Our solutions offer a service that saves and improves lives.”
Sam Tabbara, Paradise Mobile's CEO, mentioned, “We look forward to working with AALTO. Zephyr has demonstrated a high level of maturity as a HAPS platform, and its innovation and sustainability are aligned with Paradise Mobile’s values and objectives in designing the future.”
Zephyr serves as a tower in the sky that can support terrestrial networks while providing low-latency, direct-to-device 4G/5G services while flying above regular air traffic in the stratosphere.
Using its stratospheric Zephyr solar-powered aircraft, Airbus subsidiary AALTO HAPS offers services for applications in mobile connectivity, platform mobility, earth observation and government.
